Glen is the son of Violet Kissling and the late Jesse Kissling. He is married to Connie (Wendholt) Kissling and has two daughters, Stacie Vaal and Becky Messmer.

Glen graduated from Holland High School and  Ivy Tech with a minor in accouting.  He has been an employee of Steinkamp Home Center for 38 years.  His community involvement has included: charter board of director's member of  The Dubois County Home Builders Associaton, 31 years on the Huntingburg Fire Department with 21 years as Fire Chief, member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, YMI, Faternal Order of Eagles, Moose Lodge, VFW Auxiliary and Son of the Legion.
