Due to the predicted incoming winter weather event, the City of Huntingburg is taking precautions to address issues should they arise. Residents are asked to be prepared and follow the Dubois County Emergency Management Agency’s safety guidelines.

“This winter weather event will bring historically low temperatures to our area,” says Huntingburg Mayor Steve Schwinghamer. “Our departments are working hard to be as prepared as possible, but emergency situations are still expected in an event like this. I am extremely confident in all of our employees and their ability to respond as needed, and I encourage all of our residents to stay safe.”

The Huntingburg Street department will be pre-treating roads with salt throughout the city today, December 22, 2023, in preparation for predicted snow accumulation. Treatment of US231 and State Road 64 are the responsibility of the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). The Energy Department is anticipating potential power outages. To report a power outage, please call Huntingburg City Hall at (812) 683-2211. Should extended power outages occur, the city will release additional information to assist residents.
