Basic Senior Center Information

The Huntingburg Senior Center is a recreational facility for the community members ages 55 and older.  Activities are published on a calendar each month that is available at the Center or at the following link: Senior Center Calendar - February 2026

Activities include card tournaments, Bingo, workout classes, puzzles, crafts, and carry-in lunches. Bowling is available at special rates on Fridays at Breakaway Lanes.  Memorial Gym is open for walking November to May.  Speakers are invited to share information that is of interest to seniors throughout the year and special events are planned on occasion. Tax assistance is offered for free in February, March and April. Call (812)683-2211 to schedule your appointment!

Cleaning & Deposit

  • Cleaning Deposit: A $300.00 deposit will be refunded if the Senior Center is left in the condition in which it was found.
  • Bathrooms will be cleaned before your rental period.
  • Please leave all spaces as you found them.

Key Access

  • The front door will automatically unlock at your scheduled rental time. A key fob will be provided the week prior to your rental and should be left on the kitchen counter next to the coffee pot after use.

Accessibility

  • The entire facility is handicap accessible.

Kitchen Access, Food, Drink & Event Policies

  • No on-site cooking is permitted at the Huntingburg Senior Center. All meals must be catered or brought in fully prepared.
  • Use of the stove and microwave is permitted for reheating purposes only. The refrigerator and freezer may be used for temporary storage during the rental period.
  • All food, beverages, and related items brought into the facility by the renter must be removed at the conclusion of the event.
  • Food and beverages belonging to the Huntingburg Senior Center are for Senior Center use only and may not be consumed by renters or their guests.
  • Alcohol sales, distribution, or consumption during the use of the facility is PROHIBITED.
  • No smoking inside the facility.
  • Do not tape, hook, or attach anything to the walls (including tape, hooks, etc.) - a good alternative for signs would be to screencast to the TVs.

Trash Disposal & Cleaning Supplies

  • All trash shall be bagged and placed INSIDE the trash bins located within the facility.
  • Extra trash bags, cleaning supplies, dry mops, and brooms are available in the closet by bathroom.

Parking

  • Free parking is available in front of the senior center.

Special Notes

  • For the safety and operation of the Senior Center, renters are asked to remain only in approved rental areas. Please do not use any Senior Center–owned items, enter closets marked “Do Not Enter,” or access the downstairs area.
