Special Event Application & Details

The Special Event Application helps the City of Huntingburg coordinate community activities, ensure public safety, and manage the use of City property and resources. Completing this application allows City departments to review event details, prevent scheduling conflicts, and provide any necessary support to make your event safe and successful.

Planning a Special Event in Huntingburg

Not sure if you need a Special Event Application? You’ll need a Special Event Application if your event will close or reserve a city-owned street, park, or public space for a public event, and/or requires assistance or resources from City departments. Submitting an application ensures your event is safe, properly planned, and has the support it needs to succeed.

Deadlines & Approvals

  • Please submit your Special Event Application and all required documents at least 30 days before your event to allow time for necessary approvals.

  • Street closures require approval from the Board of Public Works & Safety, which meets on the first Thursday of each month at 8:30 a.m. at Huntingburg City Hall (unless otherwise noted).

  • Events in City parks require approval from the Park Board, which meets on the third Monday of each month at 4:00 p.m. at Huntingburg City Hall (unless otherwise noted).

  • A representative from your organization must attend the appropriate board meeting to present the event request.

  • Applicants are also responsible for contacting Dubois County Emergency Management for Emergency Action Plan approval.

Facility Use Agreement & Fees
Once your Special Event Application is approved, you’ll receive a Facility Use Agreement. This agreement must be signed, and all applicable fees paid, before your event can take place.
