Mayor Denny Spinner joined Jim Dauby, PSC President & CEO,  for an announcement regarding a major fiber project planned in Huntingburg. “High-Speed Huntingburg,” a privately-funded project, is expected to bring Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) for all residences and businesses located within the city limits of Huntingburg.  

“Across the country and our state, when it comes to broadband technology, the research is clear. Communities without the most up-to-date advanced telecommunications infrastructure will likely suffer economically and socially,” says Mayor Spinner. “With the ‘High-Speed Huntingburg’ project, we are bridging the technology gap that exists in many rural Indiana communities and giving Huntingburg yet another chance to thrive and grow. Having a trusted local and experienced company like PSC to commit to such a project makes this announcement even more exciting.  Meeting local telecommunications needs is part of PSC’s history, and ‘High-Speed Huntingburg’ creates a vision not only for the future for their company, but for the businesses, industry and citizens of Huntingburg.”

The project will be completed in phases, with the first phase set to begin at Hunters Crossing, the workforce housing development announced earlier this year as part of the city’s Stellar Communities program. The engineering study has begun with an expected project start date of spring 2016.
