The City of Huntingburg was awarded a safety grant in the amount of $1,171.18 from Indiana Public Employer’s Plan (IPEP). Brad Bolling of Schmutzler Insurance Agency in Huntingburg, on behalf of Aaron Alsup of IPEP, presented a check to Mayor Steve Schwinghamer, Clerk-Treasurer Tom Dippel, Safety Director Travis Gentry, and City Hall Receptionist Moe Goodman on Thursday, February 4, 2021. The grant money will be used to purchase safety equipment and provide training programs for City employees to help eliminate workplace injuries.  

“Safety in the workplace is important for many reasons, and in order for our employees to work safely, they need the right tools,” says Safety Director Travis Gentry. “Ensuring our employees are safe on the job ensures they go home to their families every evening, and this grant allows us to continue providing educational opportunities, proper safety equipment and training for our employees.”

 

“We have a great group of dedicated City employees, and their safety is always a top priority.” says Mayor Steve Schwinghamer. “I’d like to personally thank Travis and many others involved for achieving this recognition from IPEP, elevating our safety standards, and continuing to make this City not only a great place to work, but also, ‘A City Like No Other!’”
